This English-language event is aimed at the scientific community in Bilbao and internationally, and will take place both in person and online.

On the 27th April 2025, Rocío García-Carrión and Sarah Jack from the IMPROVA Consortium presented the paper “Co-creation for Cultivating Emotional Wellbeing in Adolescents: A Methodological Framework for School-Based Mental Health Interventions”. This paper was a collective work by the presenting authors together with consortium members Rodrigo Antunes Lima, Catrin Finkenhauer, Hester Sijtsma, Coriena de Heer, Harald Baumeister, Ann-Marie Kuechler, and Mariona Perez Anton.

On Tuesday 25th March, the Symposium on Child and Adolescent Mental Health was hosted at at the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu in Spain (Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona), bringing together leading experts to discuss innovative approaches to promoting mental well-being among young people. The event was facilitated by Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, Fundació de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu, Xarxa Tecsam, and SMHILE and featured insightful presentations from Dr. Josep Maria Haro and Dr. Rodrigo Lima on mental health promotion in schools, highlighting the IMPROVA and ePro-Schools projects.

The IMPROVA consortium has been very busy over the past months, and we are delighted to share our progress with you in our 3rd project newsletter! Thanks to the hard work of our consortium, we are all set to begin our field trial phase in the coming weeks, where we’ll be trialing the IMPROVA intervention in schools in France, Germany, Romania and Spain.

The IMPROVA project held its General Assembly meeting on the 17th and 18th of October 2024 in Cluj, Romania. The meeting was hosted by Babeș-Bolyai University and brought together 25 members of the IMPROVA consortium, representing the various institutions and Work Packages from across the project.

On 4th October 4th, IMPROVA had the pleasure of participating in the 2nd Mental Health Dialogues webinar on ‘Digital Applications in Mental Health’. This event is part of a series of webinars co-organized by various mental health research projects funded by Horizon Europe, which aim to encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange in mental health research.

On May 15th, IMPROVA took part in an insightful webinar “How to Get Co-Creation Right in Mental Health Research,” organized by ADVANCE Project as part of European Mental Health Week. This online event gathered experts from various prominent Horizon Europe projects focussed on mental health to discuss the vital role of co-creation in mental health research.

Welcome back to the IMPROVA newsletter!
It has certainly been a busy first year for IMPROVA. All of our 13 partner institutions have been working hard during this initial phase of the project. The pedagogical materials for the field trial are underway, and the first version of the online platform has been developed by our partners at Ulm University.
